This week has been really eventful, especially for Cate. Starting with Caleb...
Caleb has decided that walking is not good enough anymore. He is starting to run! He doesn't have any new words, or new teeth, but he'll get there! He is also a dancing fool! He has this commercial (from a NYC channel) that he loves to dance to. Check out YouTube for video of him doing it. Anyway, he used to just sit down and dance. Now he is up and standing when he does it.
Cate has had a very eventful week. After Caleb went to bed and Daddy was upstairs, we watched Nemo (my favorite movie and now her's). She added 2 new words to her vocabulary: bird and fish. She is now up to 30+ words. Considering they should only be sayint about 5 words, she is way up there. Okay, now I'm over my bragging moment.
She is starting to really walk between people. We have high hopes for her being able to walk by the time we go to Wisconsin! She went to sleep with 7 teeth on Wednesday night and woke up with 9 on Thursday. Yay for that!
Cate and Caleb are getting really good at occupying each other. They go to their toy corner a lot and just play quietly together. She spends a lot of time laughing at him. She thinks he is hilarious!
Tonight begins a busy rest of November for all of us! I'll give you all a run down, because I may not be able to update often and I may not be answering my phone often either. Tonight I start working on Friday nights again from 6-9. Tomorrow we are open for lunch from 11-2. I get off at 1 and will be going to cheer on my Bearcats at MSSU. I am so excited! We have family dinner at 5:15 that night too. Whew!
Sunday we are helping Daniel and CJ move. Then church Wednesday night and We have a party of 25 on Thursday night. Aunt Lindsey will also be arriving on Thursday. Aunt Jen will be here on Friday and then it's scrapbooking for Jen and I! 2 whole days! Aunt Jen will leave Sunday and Aunt Lindsey will leave on Monday. After that it is up in the air. There may even be another Bearcat game thrown in!
We will be leaving before 6 am on the 26th to head for Wisconsin. After picking up our Christmas tree in Iowa, we will be home late on the 30th.
I am going to close out for now. Daniel's mom is on the way over to get the carpet cleaner and I have to do a quick how to use lesson.

It's been a week
Since it's been a week since I've posted, I thought I would give you all an update! This has been a pretty normal week. Cate is standing on her own more and more now. She sometimes looks like she is thinking about walking, but she hasn't gotten that first step yet. Caleb is really walking. He loves to walk around stores, etc. while holding on to someone's hand. Yes, only one hand, never 2.
We didn't dress the kids up for Halloween. We ended up at the mall with Nay that day. I had never been to the mall on Halloween. It is fascinating how people don't point for those Trick-or-Treating to get in a line, but they do anyway. Occasionally, an adult and a bunch of kids will step to the middle of the mall while one person holds the place in line. Then they just join back up. We did go to the Pumpkin Party at church. Most of the stuff was for older kids, but they loved to watch!
Both of the kids have runny noses. Nothing new about that though. We took them to George Washington Carver today. They loved to ride around and see all of the people, especially those that had dogs. Caleb loves dogs! We also just put them down to go. They love it when they get to roam through a big space.
There is a change to our schedule to go up North. We will now be leaving on Wednesday morning. We forgot to take the time change into account when we made our original schedule. We figure we need more light than 4 hours (2 of which they would asleep) to keep them happy. We will leave at 6:00 am. We will do the same thing on Sunday. On the way home, we will stop and get our Christmas tree, whether it is in Iowa or Missouri.

A day in Branson
We decided to take the kids to Branson today. We started on the road at 10:00. We have confirmed that Caleb gets car sick! Not fun for any of us. At least there was a good place to pull over at the time!
They did so well in the City! We ate lunch, they played in the ball area, drank milk, looked at crafts, and danced to the music from the shows that were going on. Caleb caught the eye of a 6-month-old. She had beautiful eyes and thought Caleb was the best thing ever! Cate caught the eye of a boy just their age in the ball area. I think his name was Gavin. She is really a flirt! They had their first juice box today. We weren't sure how they would do with a straw, but they caught on quick!
We then went to Celebration City. I was really sad to find out that this was their last ever day. They just don't have the crowds to justify keeping it open. We went on a hay ride, played on the great lawn, rode the carousel, and went through the hay maze. They really had a great time!
We went to the Landing and played in the Crab Shack play area and at at Charley's. They loved the water show! Caleb danced at the music. Too funny! There is a new Wal-Mart in Branson and it is HUGE! We got new sippy cups and then we were on the way home.
By the way, Cate is now parroting everything you say. We have to be really careful about what we say around her!

The cold weather is coming!
It is so cold today! I am definitley going to have to dig out their warm jackets to go to Joplin tonight. The last few days have been pretty uneventful in terms of the kids doing new things. Cate is working on saying new words. Her current favorites are cookie and cracker. Grammy taught her "Meow" today. When you ask her what an elephant says she says "Woof". If we aren't careful, their stuffed animals will have an identity crisis before it is all over. Caleb is walking everywhere. He crawls if he needs to get somewhere fast. Right now he is mad at me because I told him that he can't play with the vacuum. They have both also learned to blow kisses.
Tonight we are going to Life Group in Joplin. We are having a surprise baby shower for Teia and Dave who had a 10 lb baby girl.

That is Cate's first entry to this blog. The translation is: Hello everyone in Wisconsin! I miss you!
Time to go play. If you have time, check out the kids on facebook (Add me as a friend, Diana Martin) and on Youtube under cateandcaleb.

Our first post!
We are starting this blog because Cate and Caleb are growing up so fast! They are learning to talk and walk and we want to keep all of our family posted on what is happening.
Today Cate has decided to say new words! Today it is: lamp, bye-bye, and cracker. She also has a sentence! She now says "What's this?" and uses it appropriately. Caleb does not have any ambitions to talk yet.
Caleb is really walking now. He does still crawl, but his walking is becoming more confident. Cate does not have her balance yet, but she is getting fast at cruising around! It won't be long until she is at it too!
For all that don't know, we will be in Wisconsin for Thanksgiving. We will get there late, late on the Wednesday before and we will leave the Sunday after. Yes, for all of you that know me, that will mean that the only Black Friday shopping I get to do is at Wal-Mart. Let's hope that we see some great deals from them! We hope to see you all at either the Martin or Mumm Thanksgiving!
